It’s on the Quay and it’s FREE!

Friday 22 August 2008, the place to be is on the Quay in Exeter. Soul Agents play outside the Prospect Inn under the cover of the Old Fish Market, right by the river. It's free admission and we've included loads of fun extras to make it a great night out. There will be guest presenters from the world of local FM radio, a cool light show and a host of new material to enjoy.

Get your bad selves down to the Quay for 7:00 pm – bring the little'ns and the old'ens and your dancing shoes and we'll have a great party night to remember!

New lights, new songs, new bass player, old keyboard player!

We've been investing in some new lights to improve the show and create a little more atmosphere – there's more to come on that front.

Singer Nick has been forcing the pace of change lately – saw Robby singing Tom Jones' "It's not unusual" and Elvis' "Suspicious minds" and just had to get them into the set. "People come to see us time and again and deserve some new and exciting additions to the set" – we have been hard at work. Also more to come on the songs front.

Edd is our new bass player. Young but inventive(!), Edd is a great addition to the line-up and we think he'll go far during his musical career.

Keyboard layer Percy makes a welcome return to the fold –Malcolm has gone on to pastures new and we wish him every success.

Name change to protect the innocent!

"Soul Agents" is the new name of the Exeter (UK) based band formerly known as "The Original Stax of Soul".

After much soul-searching (ho, ho!), the band decided it was time to transform, update and generally move forward. After a successful if frustrating period of name confusion with other bands (fans do get cross when they turn up to see the band only to find a namesake performing!), the decision was made.

There is now a red-hot commitment to bringing in new material, on an ongoing basis, to keep things fresh – a new spirit is abroad . . .

Old friends and new are invited to check the gigs page and go see the "new and improved" show . . . "we look forward to seeing you" a spokesperson said . . .
